Jason was born in Logansport, IN (1972). He attended military high school in Boonville, MO at Kemper Military School. Jason received his M.F.A. from American University, Washington D.C. (2000) and his B.F.A. from Kansas City Art Institute, Kansas City MO. (1998).
He is an active professional artist in all mediums and has taught printmaking, painting, and drawing at American University in Washington D.C. Recent exhibitions include Holland, Belguim, Germany, England, China, and the many cities throughout the United States. His work is housed in select collections such as Christel DeHaan personal collection; Barbra Rose collection; Citadel Investments extended collection, Watkins Gallery of Art at American University. With imagery using a multitude of technology, mediums, mark making, physicality, and materials the content is derived from a combination of many sources in history and personal memories.
The work of Jason Myers is a contained emergence of a figure trapped between an psychological and physical environment. His content both questions and comments on society and the information to which we are exposed. The artwork is portraits of random intense emotional moments drawn directly from life, combined with the impending political and societal influence from our culture.
